Anne Benton Ellis, 85, was reunited with her beloved Joe on October 11, 2021.  She was born in Sunbury, NC the daughter of the late Robert Brooks Benton and Nina Elizabeth Brinkley Benton.  She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, George "Joe" Lewis Ellis; and sister, Martha Benton Davila.  She was 1955 graduate of Sunbury High School.  Anne retired after 44 years from Lipton Tea Company in Quality Control.  She was a member of Eureka Baptist Church.  She was also a member of the Lipton Quarter Century Club.  She was the operator of "Joe's Studio" and was the promotor for "Old Time Country Boys".

Anne is survived by her daughter, Joanne Ellis Randolph and husband, Jeff Yeatts; grandson, Zachary Wayne Randolph; sister, Virginia Benton Jones; brother, Robert Brinkley Benton; special niece, Debbie Reese; and numerous other nieces and nephews; special friends, Esther Hingle and Nancy Rogers.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Charles W. Thompson officiating.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation an hour prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 10 a.m.  Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Albert G.
