Anna May Zebley Cocco, 86, of Suffolk passed away on May 16, 2010. A native of Elkton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Wildman Zebley and Annie May Benjamin Zebley and also predeceased by her husband, Armand F. Cocco and brothers, Elwood Zebley and Joseph Zebley. She attended Newark High School; was an alumni of Maryland Institute, College of Art; a homemaker and a Draftsman for Dupont. Anna was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church where she was a member of the choir and also a member of St. James Episcopal Church, both in Wilmington, DE. Anna was active in politics, working with both republicans and democrats including the campaigns for Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. (who is now Vice President), Senator William V. Roth, Governor Thomas Carper (now Senator), Representative Michael Castle and former Governor Pierre S. DuPont, IV. She helped to organize the Brack-Ex/Roselle Civic Association, serving as its president for many years.
She is survived by her children, daughters: Constance "Connie" C. Brooks of Suffolk, VA and Amanda C. Cottman and husband, Isaiah of Wilmington, DE; and sons, John Cocco, II of Newark, DE and Armand F. Cocco, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren: Michele B. Kinder, Robert R. Brooks, III, Joseph A. Brooks, Ryan Cocco, Andrea L. Jordan, Lisa M. Cocco, Mary A. Berry and Allison N. Jordan; great grandchildren: Lexie and Jake Kinder; Joey, Gracie, and Noah Brooks; Sophia Roane; Darian Hackley; Zachary Shank; Vinnie and Ava Jordan; Daniel, Ariana and Amber Jordan; Layla Cottman; and Landen Cocco; and two brothers, George B. Zebley of Newark, DE (who passed away May 18, 2010) and Harold Zebley of Washington.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Head of Christiana Presbyterian Church in Newark, DE, with her cousin, the Rev. Dr. Philip M. Zebley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk on Thursday, May 20, 2010 with the Rev. Dr. Keith R.
