Ann Mehalko Runyon, 86, formerly of Suffolk, VA, passed away peacefully at her home in Albany, GA on December 15, 2014. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on June 21, 1927 to George and Anna Toth Mehalko. She is predeceased in death by her son Thomas I. Runyon (Tommy).

Ann Runyon taught at the DePaul Hospital School of Nursing. She went on to become a registered dietician where she worked for numerous facilities in her field.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Betty Mehalko of Falls Church, VA. She is survived by her daughters Barbara Ann Jones (Philip) of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Mariann Chappell (Marvin) of Sunbury, NC, Kathy R. Ramage (Mathew), Juanita Gillis (Doyle) of Suffolk, VA, Patricia Good of Gates, NC. She is survived by her sons Martin Runyon (Susan) of Marathon, FL, James Runyon of Williamsburg, VA, John Runyon of Albany, GA and Michael J. Runyon of Los Angeles, CA. She had 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was a devoted Catholic and she enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting and needlepoint. A Funeral Mass will be held, Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:30 am at St. Mary's of the Presentation Catholic Church with Father Oscar Paraiso officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary's of the Presentation Catholic Church Women's Club, 202 South Broad Street, Suffolk, VA, 23434.
