Anita Baker Laine, 77, passed away December 30, 2012. She was born in Suffolk, VA the daughter of the late Opal Powell Baker and Stonewall "Pinky" Baker. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, James Cobb Laine, Sr. and her son, Stephen Albert Laine. Anita retired as an insurance agent for Southern Insurance Agency in Kitty Hawk, NC. She was a member of Suffolk Christian Church and the West Memorial Bible Class. She was a member of the Suffolk Red Hatters, Sassy Red Hatters, and Windsor Red Hatters. She was also a member of the North Outer Banks Kiwanis, Outer Banks Pilot Club, Southeastern Insurance Women's Association, the Suffolk Woman's Club, and she served as past President of the Suffolk Junior Woman's Club.

Anita is survived by her daughters, Lisa Laine Facenda and husband, Jeff, Holly Laine Saunders and husband, William G. Saunders, IV all of Suffolk; son, James Cobb Laine, Jr. and wife, Sally of Charleston, WV; grandchildren, Alex and Ian Laine, Jacob and Stephanie Laine, Jenny and William "Quint" Saunders, and Drew Nash and wife,Chelsea; great grandchildren, Emily and Kaleb Nash; sister, Gail Baker Taylor and husband, Vernon of Suffolk; and 3 nieces: Jessica Broegler, Susannah Broegler and Sara Hart.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodland United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Friends may join the family Wednesday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory for a time of visitation. Memorial donations may be made to Suffolk Christian Church at P.O.
