Angel Luis Rivera, 89, passed away March 24, 2019.  He was born in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico the son of the late Ulises and Carmen Rivera.  He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Geronima S. Rivera; and his granddaughter, Angelina.  Angel was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served during the Korean War.  He later went on to work and retire as a night aid at Pilgrim's State Hospital.  He also worked as a fabricator for Fiberglass Resources.  He was a member of St. Phillip and James Catholic Church.

Angel is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Doug Schroeder; sons and daughters-in-law, Roland and Brenda Rivera, and Michael and Ynes Rivera; grandchildren, Melinda, Angela, Alicia, Steven, Joel, Collin, Noah, Christopher, Caroline, and Ariana; and great grandchildren, Alanas, Alaina, Allison, Jordan, Gianna, Isabella.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Father Emmanuel Mensah officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a visitation Tuesday night from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com .
