July 6, 1927 – January 13, 2022
Amaryllis Catherine (Bonnie) Eaves Age 94 went home to be with her Lord on January 13, 2022, in Bremerton, WA, after a long and blessed life. Bonnie was born on July 6, 1927, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Marion E. (Scholz) Britcher & Leroy Britcher. Married to Pierson L. Eaves for sixty-six wonderful years. Survived by her children: Leroy B. Eaves and wife Cynthia of VA, Curtis L. Eaves and wife Debra of VA, Cassandra E. Aguiar and husband Michael of WA. Grandchildren: Kristina L. Webster and husband Lonnie of WA, April M. Truitt and husband Kenneth of VA, David M. Aguiar of WA, and Pierson M. Eaves and wife Charlee of VA. Great-grandchildren: Caleb Truitt, Todd Truitt, Eliana Webster, Arleigh Webster, Allison Truitt, Bragen Eaves, Braelyn Webster, and Weston Eaves. Bonnie was predeceased by her husband Pierson L. Eaves.
Bonnie graduated in 1946 from Johnstown high school, joined the Navy Waves as a personnel man and served during the Korean war. Bonnie was medically honorable discharge after three years of service. Bonnie volunteered at the Little Creek Dispensary and Leigh Memorial Hospital for many years.
After retirement Bonnie and her husband enjoyed making penny banks and traveling to sell them at craft shows under the name of Pete's Pet Place for 15 years.
Bonnie was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church until moving to Suffolk and joining Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church.
May of 2019 Bonnie moved out to Bremerton, WA to live out the rest of her life with her daughter and family. Bonnie was loved by all who met her, her gift from God was the gift of encouragement through the many calls and cards she sent to everyone who needed a kind word.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home in Suffolk, Virginia with Rev. Brett Carl officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veteran Cemetery.
