Alvin Lee White, 60, of Suffolk, VA passed away April 28, 2011. He was born in Gates Co., NC the son of the late Alice Winslow White and Emmitt Douglas White, Sr. He was predeceased by his brother, Emmitt Douglas White, Jr. Alvin was a U.S. Army veteran having served during Vietnam. He worked as a truck driver for James Franks Hauling. He was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Suffolk Moose Lodge, the Joe Bagley VFW Post #2582, and the Magnolia Ruritan Club.

Alvin is survived by his wife of 22 years, Margo Anne White of Suffolk; daughter, Allison Yonker of CA; grandchildren, Dustin and Ashley Yonker; sister, Novella White Daniels of Suffolk.

A funeral service will be held Monday, May 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Wilroy Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Hampton officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery. Friends may join the family for at time of visitation Sunday afternoon from 3-4 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA and other times at the residence.
