Alvin Overton Brinkley, 78, of Zuni, VA passed away March 10, 2011. He was born in Corapeake, NC the son of the late Mettia Alma Reynolds Brinkley and Coley Herman Brinkley. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Ann Chaney Brinkley. He retired from General Electric Company.

Alvin is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Thomas Babb, Sr., Teresa and Bobby Lee Trump, Sr. all of Suffolk, Robin and Michael Huffman of Zuni, VA; sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Susan Brinkley of Suffolk, Gary and Linda Brinkley of Windsor; 12 grandchildren: Jeffrey Brinkley, Jesse Brinkley, Gary Brinkley, Jr., Christopher Brinkley, Candice Brinkley, Thomas Babb, Jr., Jennifer Babb, April Huffman, Michael Huffman, Krystal Sadler, Ashley Edwards, Scott Brinkley; 7 great grandchildren: Brianna Brinkley, Peyton Brinkley, Alexis Underwood, Chloe Underwood, Cohen Kudsk, Corey Brinkley and Landon Brinkley; sisters: Mildred Middleton, Lois Musselman, and Lora Ward.

A graveside service will be held Monday, March 14, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating.
