Alton Olney Pickering, Jr., 71, passed away February 5, 2017.  He was born in Woonsocket, RI the son of the late Alton Olney Pickering and Olive Paterson Pickering.  Alton was a United States Navy veteran having served as a Chief Petty Officer during the Vietnam War.  He later went on to work as a cable technician for Time Warner.

Alton is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marian Elizabeth Adams Pickering; loving step-mother, Ella Pickering; daughters, Cathy Pickering, Christine Pickering, Janice Gardner and husband, Brian; sons, John Pickering, Alton Pickering, III and wife, Aimee; grandchildren, Eric, Bethany, Kyle, Luke, Nathaniel, Bryson, John, Carter, Campbell, Jacob, Hanna, John, Aiden, Tobin, Finley, Quinten, Sara; 3 great grandchildren; 9 sisters; and 3 brothers.
