Alpha Mccauley
Cobb
October 30, 1937 – March 6, 2026
Alpha McCauley Cobb, born on October 30, 1937, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 88. A man of steadfast dedication and gentle spirit, Alpha touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity.
He was the co-owner of Cobb's Truck Stop, where he worked alongside family and friends, leaving a legacy of hard work and community service. Beyond his professional life, Alpha had a deep passion for Standardbred horses; breeding, training and driving, particularly for sulky racing. His love for the sport was well-known, as was his enthusiasm for golf, a game he enjoyed throughout his life. Alpha proudly served his country in the United States Army as part of the infantry platoon from 1957 to 1959. As a member of Southside Baptist Church, Alpha found solace and strength in his faith, which he shared openly with those around him.
Alpha is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Carolyn Davis Bissett Cobb; father, Benjamin Forrest Cobb; mother, Ella Mae Britt Cobb; son, Barry D. Cobb; and grandson, Blaine A. Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Cobb Eure and her husband, Bubba; grandchildren, Jennifer Martin and her husband, Dillon, and Justin Cobb and his wife, Emily; and great-granddaughter, Emery A. Williams. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother, James R. Cobb and his wife, Betty; along with numerous extended family members and cherished friends.
Services to honor Alpha's life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Phil Lilly officiating. Burial will follow at Windsor Cemetery, where Alpha will be laid to rest with the dignity and love he so richly deserved. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southside Baptist Church in Alpha's memory, ensuring his spirit continues to support the community he held dear. Friends and family are invited to post condolences on parrfuneralhome.com.
