Almeda Wells S. McBride, a beloved member of the community, passed away on July 3, 2025. Born in Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lena Wells. Almeda was a dedicated nurse before her retirement and was actively involved in her church, Bethlehem Christian Church, where she served as a deaconess and was a member of the Savage Circle.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James L. Strickland, Edgar Piland Savage, and Lt. Col. Glenn E. McBride; her daughter, Gail Strickland; and her brother, Dan Wells.

Almeda is survived by her son, Danny R. Strickland and his wife, Cindy; her grandchildren, Shannon Sanderlin, Robert Bishop, Christie Mazzone, and Stephanie Carpenter and her husband, Chris; as well as seven great grandchildren and eight great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lorene Walden and her husband, LB.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, with Rev. Tim Rawls officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home prior to the service.
