Allen Edgar Askew, III, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at the age of 52. Born on January 9, 1974, in Franklin, Virginia, Allen spent his entire life in the community he loved.

Allen dedicated his career to ensuring the safety and security of others, working diligently as a Security Guard. His commitment to public safety extended beyond his professional life, as he was also a passionate shooting instructor for Maryland and Virginia State Troopers. His expertise and dedication to teaching were appreciated by many who had the privilege of learning from him.

A lifelong member of the National Rifle Association, Allen was deeply committed to the values and skills associated with responsible firearm ownership and use. He found great joy in sharing his knowledge and skills with others, fostering a sense of responsibility and safety in all his endeavors.

Allen was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Allen Edgar Askew, Jr., and Margaret Cofield Askew. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Harris, and his brother, Troy Weaver, who will miss him dearly.
