Alberta Marie Jordan Hulsey, 92, of Suffolk, VA died on December 4, 2006. She was a native of St. Louis, Missouri, but grew up in the Missouri Lead Belt. She was a retired nurse at Lakeside Hospital in Lake City, Florida. Alberta was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church and attended Great Fork Baptist Church in Suffolk. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dora Armon Jordan, and was predeceased by her late husband of 71 years, Carl Edward Hulsey.

Alberta was survived by her daughter, Marylin Blair and David of Lutherville, MD; sons, Robert E. Hulsey and Arleen of Ben Lomond, CA, Vernon Hulsey of Ormond Beach, FL, Virgil Hulsey and Barbara of Puyallup, WA, and David Hulsey of Livermore, CA; 40 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for over 25 years and was an honorary Deputy Sheriff. For many years she worked in the accounting department at Sears and was a nurse in several different states after that. Alberta always enjoyed being with her large family. She took pride in her vegetable garden and flower garden and was always generous in sharing her food and possessions with her neighbors and others.
