Albert Wayne Beale, 67, of Smithfield, VA and Nags Head, N.C., passed away October 1, 2015. Wayne was born November 26, 1947, in Petersburg, VA to the late Joyce Arnold Beale and Albert Wilson Beale. He grew up in Wakefield, VA and was a graduate of Tidewater Academy. He attended Chowan College and Old Dominion University and began his career in 1969 with Old Dominion Paper Company. He remained a devoted employee there for 38 years through acquisitions by Dillard Paper Co., XPEDX, and, finally, International Paper. He later went on to start his own business, Hunter-Taylor Supply of Suffolk, VA. Spending time with family and friends was Wayne's passion and joy. His kind and selfless nature will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 25 years Sarah Jones Beale; daughter Jennifer Beale Britt (Charlie); three sons Thomas Wilson "Will" Beale (Amber), Hunter Helm Beale, and Taylor Thomas Beale; sister Janet Beale James (Sidney); brother David Arnold Beale (Kathy); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. "Granddad" will be lovingly remembered by his four grandsons, William & Sydney Britt and Colton & Jacob Beale.

The family wishes to thank all those who helped support Wayne during his battle with ALS during the past two and a half years, especially Barbara Spratley for her compassion and care.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17 at 1:00 at the Suffolk Cultural Arts Center, 110 W. Finney Ave., Suffolk, VA 23434. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Riverside ALS Clinic c/o Riverside Foundation 608 Denbigh Blvd., Suite 700, Newport News, VA 23608.
